Gayle Ross DeGeurin Gayle Ross DeGeurin graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, MO. with an Associate Arts degree and the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Education and Sociology. She received a diploma from the St. Nicholas Montessori training center in London and is a former Director of the Montessori School of Houston. She has continued her education over the years including Buddhist Studies at Rice University, Painting and Life Drawing at the Instituto de Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Art Therapy Theory and Practice at the University of Houston, and numerous classes from the Jung Center and the MFAH Glassell School of Art. Mrs. DeGeurin taught in public elementary schools from 1968 through 1991, and has volunteered for the Houston Zoo, Rice Design Alliance, the ACLU, the UN Human Rights Celebration Committee, Lawndale Art Center and FotoFest. She formerly served on the Board of the Community Artists Collective and the Citizen's Environmental Coalition and is currently on the Board of Artbridge Houston. She has been a member of The Rothko Chapel Board of Directors since October 2005.
