GREET, GUIDE, GUARD and more!

Do you love the Rothko Chapel? Are you interested in helping to greet its many visitors, protect the magnificent Mark Rothko murals and assist with public programs? Would you like to join a dedicated group of people working in an inspirational environment?

If so, we need your help and ask that you consider becoming a  member of the Rothko Chapel Guild.   

What do Guild members do?

Welcome guests to the Rothko Chapel  
Assist in the Chapel Shop and with public tours
Help protect the magnificent Mark Rothko murals inside the Chapel
Support the public programs, private services and special events

What are the benefits of being in the Guild?

Join a select group of passionate Rothko Chapel supporters  
Learn about the history of the Rothko Chapel and its on-site masterpieces by Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman
Participate in ongoing educational offerings and social gatherings  
Receive annual recognition in the member newsletter , on the Rothko Chapel website and during the annual Guild Recognition Event

What is the Rothko Chapel's commitment to Guild members?

Orientation and training
Easy online access to schedule volunteer hours
Timely communication   
Clear volunteer assignments and on-site staff support
A volunteer environment that is respectful and fun 

What are the qualifications of Guild members?

18 years or older
A strong interest in the Rothko Chapel
Ability to  commit to six or more hours per month from September 2013 to September 2014
A current Rothko Chapel membership
Professional and/or personal references

Now, as a member of the Guild I have access to a wealth of educational and cultural programs, time to step out of the dizzy pace of everyday life into silence by staffing the Chapel, and friendships arising from shared values with other Guild members and staff.
